Importance of ClimateWatch in our region
The Limestone Coast Landscape Board with the City of Mt Gambier has developed a ClimateWatch trail in the Valley Lakes/Kelta Malpi Conservation Park. Residents and visitors alike can explore the natural beauty of the Valley Lakes/Kelta Malpi while collecting landscape data. Become involved in collecting and recording data in our region to help us understand how the changes in temperature and rainfall are affecting the seasonal behaviour of plants and animals.
Where and how to start your ClimateWatch journey
Conveniently located in the heart of the Valley Lakes/Kelta Malpi the trail is a way for you to get out into nature and explore. Gorgeous golden wattle, red river gums, swamp wallabies and echidnas make it a fun adventure for all.
The trail is easy to follow and recording observations is supported by the ClimateWatch App.
We look forward to seeing you on the trail soon!
ClimateWatch is an initiative of EarthWatch Australia, Bureau of Meteorology and the University of Melbourne.
