With an initial investment of approx. 2.5 million into the Limestone Coast region until June 2028.
The Natural Heritage Trust is the Australian Government’s primary investment platform for environmental protection, sustainable agriculture, and natural resource management. Providing opportunities for on-ground works across environmental and sustainable agriculture projects.
“Collaborating with the Australian Government as Regional Delivery Partner is an exciting opportunity. The Natural Heritage Trust investment will increase local employment and provide opportunities to deliver on the regions and the Limestone Coast Landscape Board’s priorities.” said Dr. Penny Schulz, Chair of the Limestone Coast Landscape Board.
With successful projects supporting the Red-tailed black cockatoo and the Southern bent-wing bat we are sure to see increased benefits to the habitat of these threatened species.
“These projects fund important on-ground works such as increasing and protecting habitat to support threatened species in the Limestone Coast region”, said Dr. Robert Andrew, acting Team Leader for Habitat Conservation.
The Limestone Coast landscape provides habitat that is critical to the survival of these iconic species so we must work together to increase this across our region.
These projects will have a large contribution of community involvement.
