The Limestone Coast Landscape Board has committed over $300,000 in funding to support on-ground projects that empower local community groups, schools. volunteers, First Nations and not for profit organisations to enhance the region's landscape and biodiversity, build connections and liveability across the region.

Since 2020-21 Grassroots Grants have been successfully used to kick-start new projects and build upon existing ones. They have been used to seed activities such as plantings, nature education, citizen science, weed and pest control, erosion management and community engagement.

Dr Penny Schulz, Chair for the Limestone Coast Landscape Board said, "The Grassroots Grants funding project plays an important role in empowering communities, supporting the passion and creativity that already exists for supporting our local landscape. These grants help local groups turn good ideas into projects that help sustain our landscape across the Limestone Coast."

Applications for the next round are now open until 13 April 2026.
