The Limestone Coast Landscape Board's community drop-in information session on the karst spring wetland restoration project was met with enthusiastic participation.

The session enabled residents of Port MacDonnell to informally engage directly with Project Coordinator, Dr Emma Maxwell. Residents were able to ask questions, offer feedback and discuss challenges on the restoration efforts.

Dr. Maxwell emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating, “It was a fantastic turn out with over 50 people in attendance, highlighting the community's strong interest in the project.”

The project is funded by the Australian Government’s Natural Heritage Trust and delivered by the Limestone Coast Landscape Board. It is restoring an endangered wetland ecosystem of three unique and threatened karst springs at Eight Mile Creek, contributing to water security, and creating new Caring for Country opportunities for First Nations.
