The Limestone Coast Landscape Board in collaboration with Naracoorte Caves and the Naracoorte Lucindale Council are inviting the community to come along to the free fun filled night out!

ā€œA Night at the Cavesā€ā€”a free family-friendly twilight event at Naracoorte Caves and learn more about the fascinating world of bats!

Activities will be available for all ages including basket weaving, storytelling, art and craft activities and nature scavenger hunts. There will also be Southern Bent-wing bat experts showcasing the Bat Observation Centre and cultural learnings in Blanche Cave.

Damien Bickley, Limestone Coast Landscape Board Education Coordinator encourages all families to attend this twilight event out in our local landscape. ā€œThere are many wonderful activities on offer at this event, to experience the Naracoorte Caves on twilight is truly magical. Families are welcome to stay for the bat fly out on sunset and witness a spectacular sight.ā€

ā€œBats are incredible contributors to our environment. This event gives families a chance to connect with nature and learn about these remarkable creatures in a fun and engaging way.ā€ Damien said.

Bring a torch, a rug or camp chairs, and enjoy a relaxed evening outdoors. You’re welcome to bring a picnic, enjoy the free sausage sizzle, or purchase food and drinks from the Caves CafĆ©.

The event is being held on Saturday 11 October 2025 from 4 pm till 8 pm.
