Making compost on farm: Tintinara workshop

Farmers and land managers are invited to take part in a workshop and interactive compost making demonstration. Presented by agroecologist David Hardwick (Soil and Food) with supported facilitation from Felicity Turner (Turner agribusiness) and Sustainable Landscape Officer Nick Bassett.

  • Introduction to compost and soil organic matter.
  • Three composting methods: aerobic, fermentation and vermicompost.
  • Key components for successful composting.
  • Machinery and handling tips for farm‑scale operations.
  • Compost testing: humus, nutrients and biology.
  • How to apply compost on farm for the best results.
